Sue Webb

Hatiya
Sue Webb co-founded Search Dogs Northeast with Annabella
Morse in 1990, and is a Senior Training Officer. She started
training Tiwat, (b.12/90), her first Golden Retriever to air
scent the day she brought him home. Together they attend many
specialized trainings and workshops. From the national k9 school
in Maine in 1991 and the Canada/USA first advanced k9 school in
1992, to NASAR Response trainings, they continue to further their
understanding of SAR work. Her bloodhound Luke (b.94) came from
the Bloodhound Rescue. Sue maintains that she is learning more
about trailing and scent discrimination from Luke than she did
from her first Bloodhound, Nosey Dawg Jake Baru, because Nosey
Dawg was a natural where Luke needs more direction and training.
Sue's latest search dog is Hatiya, a golden retriever (b.4/00).
Sue has been on a number of searches in different capacities and
maintains she learns something at every incident. Tiwat has
found scent which has lead to finding the missing person and he
has also found, though Sue won't get into the number of finds
since she believes it doesn't give a whole picture. Sue was in
Florida in the aftermath of hurricane Andrew and at the Atlanta
Olympics as a member of a Massachusetts based FEMA team. Sue
Webb is the recipient of many State, Regional, and National
awards, recognizing her various humanitarian works. She is the
spark behind the formation of MEART the Massachusetts Emergency
Animal Rescue Team and the founder of S.P.I.N., Stray Pets In
Need. She is also a member of Berkshire SAR. Technical credits
and memberships include: FUNSAR; MSF; Rope Tech 1; SAR Tech II;
DMAT-RI; 1st Responder. 1st Animal Rescue
Responder and Basic Swift water rescue. and Completed Level 1
Land Navigation.
