Steve Croteau

Steve Croteau joined SDNE in 1993. A past
President and Vice President, Steve is a Level 4 Training
Officer.
Steve, a Labrador breeder, understood that his
dogs would be happiest if they had a job. After reading an
article about canine SAR and seeing the accompanying photo of
dogs rappelling with an EMT volunteer, Steve knew he found a
great job for his dogs.
Steve has been on several searches with Jake
his yellow lab, now retired, and Mariah his black lab. Both
Mariah and Jonah (born 1998) are level 2 dogs.
Steve has attended many specialized workshops
and training seminars: Sauvetage Canada; Wilderness Medical,
Pinkam Notch; Marian Hardy water trainings; Solo; Tufts Courses;
Inland SAR Coordination School. and NASAR Response Conferences.
Steve is certified in FUNSAR; MSF; MLPI; and is a Rope Tech I.
He is the SAR Coordinator for DMAT-RI (Dept. of Defense) as well
as a EMT/D.
