ED Stachurski
and
Bandit Ed Stachurski
joined SDNE in 2002 and is part of the Rhode Island training
group. His partner Bandit is a Border Collie who spends most of
her time at Butterfly Farm with her sister Libby who is also a
SDNE search dog. Although smaller in size, Bandit is one of the
fastest dogs on the team and loves catching tennis balls thrown
by anyone with a strong arm. Bandit and Ed specialize in
wilderness air-scenting rescue work. Bandit has earned her AKC
Canine Good Citizenship certificate and has achieved Level-2
search status within the team. Ed has completed courses in FUNSAR (fundamentals of search and rescue), Basic Search and
Rescue, and Map/Compass/Survival skills. He is also certified
in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Canine First Aid.
