ED Stachurski
and
Bandit

Ed Stachurski joined SDNE in 2002 and is part of the Rhode Island training group.  His partner Bandit is a Border Collie who spends most of her time at Butterfly Farm with her sister Libby who is also a SDNE search dog.  Although smaller in size, Bandit is one of the fastest dogs on the team and loves catching tennis balls thrown by anyone with a strong arm.  Bandit and Ed specialize in wilderness air-scenting rescue work.  Bandit has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizenship certificate and has achieved Level-2 search status within the team.  Ed has completed courses in FUNSAR (fundamentals of search and rescue), Basic Search and Rescue, and Map/Compass/Survival skills.  He is also certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Canine First Aid.
