Joe Reece
with
Oakley
- Joe, SDNE's Vice-president, has been working with the team
since the fall of
2000. His partner Oakley was born on New Year's Eve of that year.
Oakley came
home from Maryland seven weeks later and started his SAR training
that very day.
Oakley and Joe recently achieved their Level 2 Air Scent field
status. While
concentrating on air-scent work Oakley has training in Human Remains
Detection,
trailing, building searches, article search, and water search.
He has also
rappelled off a 90-foot tower and rides in ski lifts. Outside
of his SAR
activities Oakley attends Agility classes, he has earned his AKC
Canine Good
Citizenship Certificate and is a registered Therapy Dog.
In addition to his role as Team VP, Joe also is a SDNE representative
with
MASSARDF and NEWSAR which are two regional SAR organizations.
Joe is certified as a Medical First Responder and is an American
Red Cross
instructor in CPR and First Aid.
