Tim Carson
and
Rosie
Tim Carson joined SDNE in 1996, after serving
in the navy as a hospital corpsman/field medical specialist. In
1998, he started training Blitzen, and both are currently
certified to Level 1 status. Tim is currently training Blitzen's
grand-daughter, Rosie. Both Blitzen and Rosie are Canine Good
Citizens and, in addition to SDNE's duties, are also certified
pet therapist.
Tim recently attended the US Air Force's
inland SAR School and has received certificates in FUNSAR, MLPI,
ICS 300, First Responder and other specialized seminars and
workshops. He is currently a medical logistics officer for RI-1
DMAT, a component of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS)
under the auspices of the US Public Health Service. Tim
responded with RI-1 DMAT to the WTC for fifteen days after
September 11, 2001.
